About Hope & Salvage

Serendipity often comes in the form of misfortune, but leads to where you should have been in the first place. Restoring furniture is what I love to do, be it chairs, dressers, tables, desks and any wooden item that needs a little love. I am not afraid to tackle any kind of finish whether it requires total stripping, staining and polyurethane, or shabby chic, dry brush. I am constantly learning new techniques. I love the feel of my hands on wood.

I am grateful for the circle of friends who help me sustain my family, by finding salvage for me to reclaim, and the many prayers for my health. I thank God for the myriad of talents he has given me, and the nudges along the the years saying, "Why aren't you using them?"
